James Hunt

Managing Partner

James Hunt is MD and Founding Partner of Aspect. Before launching Aspect in 2004, he held senior positions at three of the major global communications networks, namely BSMG / Weber Shandwick, Ketchum, and Hill & Knowlton, where he was Managing Director, International Corporate Communications. James has worked on many high profile corporate issues, including Shell and Brent Spar, McDonalds and BSE, and the GM seed companies and ‘Frankenstein foods’.

He has devised global media and corporate reputation-raising campaigns for major US and European multinationals, and driven Europe-wide issue-based and political campaigns. He has managed M&A communications internally and externally, and has developed management and employee motivation programmes. James recently acted as advisor to the board of a life sciences and materials sciences multinational undergoing strategic change.

With over 20 years experience, James understands how communications is an essential business discipline that is key to achieving organisational objectives and business growth.

Frans Green


Frans Green is a Founding Partner of Aspect, with 15 years’ experience of public affairs, corporate and political communications. At Aspect, Frans is responsible for our public affairs service and helps organisations formulate and implement integrated public affairs, corporate and political communication strategies that really deliver against their organisational objectives.

He has extensive experience of working for multinational companies, international institutions, trade associations, not­-for-­profit organisations and government. He has advised major companies and organisations – including BHP Billiton, ACEA, AkzoNobel, Kellogg’s and DSM – operating in the extractives, chemicals, life sciences, material sciences, transport and food sectors.

Before Aspect, Frans worked as a lobbyist, for the BBC European Affairs office, and in the international corporate communications practices Ogilvy and Hill & Knowlton. Frans Green is a corporate and political communications specialist.

Martin Light


Martin has over 20 years’ internal and external communications experience in the fields of branding, change management, business transformation, mergers and acquisitions, culture, human resources, employer reputation and employee engagement. His consulting experience includes senior consulting roles at Burson­Marsteller, Mercer and Watson Wyatt, London. Martin also served as Visa Europe’s Head of Internal Communications where he led the internal communication function within the corporate communications team and worked closely with the Management Board and Human Resources team to promote a peak performance culture, activate the new brand and implement Europe wide change initiatives.

Martin is passionate about developing and implementing communication strategies that enable companies to act on their business priorities with the commitment, speed and agility needed in the current business climate and has helped many leading international brands to achieve this. Martin holds an MBA from the Vlerick Business School.

Sylvie Aitken


Sylvie has significant experience in international corporate branding and communications, both in-house and agency. She brings creative strategic thinking to a host of clients seeking visibility building communications. Her work includes the creation and development of campaigns, speaker bureaus, events and the implementation of digital media tools. Sylvie has experience across a number of industry sectors and the entire marketing mix. At Aspect, Sylvie has worked on client projects for FoodDrinkEurope, CEEREAL, Kellogg’s, EWEA, AkzoNobel, BHP Billiton Diamonds and P&G.

Prior to Aspect, Sylvie worked in London at the International Herald Tribune, and later for Trademark Design, a branding and communications consultancy in London, where she managed international accounts such as Sony Ericsson and Sasol.

Since her arrival in Brussels in 2003, Sylvie has led projects across a wide range of sectors including the brand revision exercise of the EGA (European Generic Medicines Association), the roll-out of the CSR media communications plan for Chiquita, and the sponsorship and media relations development for the Anka Huma asbl Cultural Art Festival.

Diego Massimiliano De Giorgi

Director, Strategic Partnerships
Brussels - Rome

Diego Massimiliano De Giorgi is a leading expert on public diplomacy, strategy consulting and global administrative law. He is an advisor of the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Center for Global Engagement at Harvard College and of the Public Diplomacy Collaborative at Harvard Kennedy School. Prior to joining Aspect, Diego was a special intelligence advisor at Glencore, a political risk consultant at Dewey LeBoeuf, a business intelligence consultant at Morgan Stanley, a special projects analyst at Denton Wilde Sapte and a public affairs assistant at LVMH.

He also served as a consultant to the United Nations Democracy Fund, the United Nations Department of Public Information and the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs. Diego studied law and economics, was a visiting research student at the University of Oxford, an Erasmus scholar at the Sorbonne and an international student at Yale University.

He is a member of several think tanks and was a Millennium Network Fellow of the Clinton Foundation, an Egmont Fellow of the Royal Institute for International Relations, a Young Transatlantic Fellow of the German Marshall Fund of the United States, a Cassese Fellow of the Institute for Research on Public Administration and a Next Generation Fellow of the Adam Smith Institute.

He speaks English and Italian natively as well as French, Spanish, German, Russian and Chinese.

Eliot Edwards

Director, European Public Affairs

Eliot is a senior parliamentary and EC institutional lobbyist responsible for the design and implementation of lobbying strategies aimed at the European institutions. He has particular expertise in overseeing integrated political communication campaigns, coalition building, design of lobbying vehicles and procurement support. Eliot has over a decade’s experience as a public affairs practitioner both at Westminster and Brussels.

Previously a Senior Associate at Interel European Affairs in Brussels (June 2010- December 2013) and the Director of EU Respond (2006 onwards): a campaign vehicle lobbying for the interests of Blue Light Responders and Civil Protection stakeholders in Brussels.

From 2006-2008, he was also the Brussels representative of the UK Defence Forum in Westminster.

Ailsa MacLeod

Senior Consultant, Corporate Communications

Ailsa Macleod is a Senior Consultant with ten years’ experience in corporate communications and public affairs, including six years working in Corporate Affairs for a highly regulated Fortune 500 based out of Switzerland and Australia. She has lived and worked in 15 countries across five continents and has consulted to a wide-range of multinationals, international NGOs and businesses in Europe, Africa and Asia. With a strong background in political engagement, she is passionate about helping clients navigate complex public policy issues with a focus on strategic communications and reputation management.

Now based in London, Ailsa consults to a number of Aspect clients across different sectors including food, FMCG, technology and manufacturing helping them develop and tell their stories across multiple platforms.

Jeff Townsend

Head of UK Public Affairs

Jeff joined Aspect at the start of 2015.  He has over ten years of international political experience having worked in South Africa, on Capitol Hill and in the UK Parliament. During his time in Parliament Jeff specialised in Foreign Affairs and International Development. After leaving the political sphere, Jeff set up his own boutique political communications firm providing advice and services predominantly to international firms operating in the developing world.

Jeff specialises particularly in the extractive industry sector, helping to set up and run the All Party Parliamentary Group on the extractive industry in the UK. Jeff was a candidate in the UK 2015 General Election. In his spare time, he studies and teaches Ju Jitsu.

Franz Kraus

Senior Advisor

Franz has been working in the Brussels arena since 1999 and has an extensive network across the EU institutions, as well as with civil society and International Organisations.  He came to Brussels to work for the BMW Group and then started working for two German MEPs in the European Parliament on areas ranging from budgetary control to social affairs and transport policy, environment, food and food safety.

From 2008 until end of 2016, Franz then worked for Kraft Foods and Mondelez International on environment, food and food safety policy. He helped implement major food legislation (e.g. on nutrition and health claims; on-pack labelling) and covered a wide range of issues from biotechnology, nutrient profiles, sustainable sourcing of raw materials to selective food taxes, or responsible marketing strategies; he also has an extensive knowledge of international trade and agricultural policy.  His time at Mondelez also saw him work closely with a range of relevant trade associations: he chaired the FoodDrinkEurope Competitiveness Committee, and represented the company in the executive boards of the European confectionary association Caobisco.

Jessica Brobald

Senior Advisor

Jessica is a senior food, biotechnology and chemicals public and regulatory affairs advisor.

Jessica brings to Aspect’s clients over 10 years of advocacy experience. She specialises in helping multinational companies and trade associations understand and successfully manage their political and regulatory issues. This includes monitoring and intelligence gathering, the development of strategies, messaging and positions, and direct and in-direct engagement with decision-makers and influencers. Her expertise covers a wide range of policy areas, including science and innovation, intellectual property, chemicals, and food and environmental policies, and she operates at both the EU and member state level.

Previously Jessica worked for a major innovative plant science company, dealing with a wide range of issues related to agrochemicals, seeds and biotechnology. She also worked in the sector of innovation stimulation, helping highly innovative SMEs to develop their businesses and access venture capital.

Jessica is a Belgian national, and holds master’s degrees in international relations from the Université Catholique de Louvain and European political and administrative studies from the College of Europe in Bruges.  Jessica speaks English, French, Italian and Dutch.

Gregory Mathieu

Senior Advisor

Gregory Mathieu is a Senior Advisor in Aspect’s Government and Public Affairs practice where he is helping clients to navigate the complex European village and develop and implement advocacy campaigns in Brussels and Strasbourg with a focus on human rights and rule of law. Gregory is also involved in due-diligence process, reputation management and sport diplomacy.  Prior to joining Aspect, Gregory spent 6 years in the Belgian Foreign Service during which time he lived for 3 years in Russia. He was Spokesperson for the first Commissioner for Human Rights at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, and during Belgian EU Presidency in 2000 was Desk Officer for CIS countries and covered COEST issues. He has held different political functions, from Advisor to the State Secretary for European Affairs, Deputy Director General of the Egmont Institute, to Chief of Staff of the Federal Minister of Economy, Energy and Trade.

After his career in the Public Administration, he engaged in lobbying activities and business/political  intelligence, coalition building and sports management and worked with APCO Worldwide. He obtained his master’s degree in History, Oriental Studies and Slavonic studies at the Catholic University, Louvain (UCL) in Belgium. Gregory is a Belgian national, with roots in the Ukraine, and speaks French, English, Russian, and Dutch. He also has a basic knowledge of Italian, Greek and Serbian.

Larisa Pircalabelu

Senior Consultant

Larisa joined Aspect in October 2015 as a public affairs and strategic communications professional. Prior to Aspect, Larisa worked for FTI Consulting in Brussels, providing communications and EU affairs support to companies and trade associations active across a wide range of policy areas and sectors, including European enlargement and EU accession process, agriculture, transport and energy.

She has a particular interest in gender equality in the technology sector and co-founded the Women in Tech (WiT) network in Brussels. Larisa also worked for The Parliament Magazine in Brussels as well as the British Embassy in Romania.

She is a Romanian native, is fluent in English and Spanish and holds a Double BSc in Global Governance and Sociology and Social Sciences from Canterbury Christ Church University (UK) and an International Business Law Degree from University of Jaen (Spain).

Evan O'Connell

Senior Consultant
Brussels - Paris

Evan is a communications and public affairs specialist. He leads our public affairs and media activities in France, while also working on EU, UK and international PR and lobbying projects and campaigns for Aspect. He has worked for corporates and trade associations across a wide range of sectors including: food and drink, chemicals and life sciences, extraction and energy, sport, and telecommunications; as well as non¬profits and governments including the government of Georgia and Open Society Foundations.

Prior to joining Aspect, Evan was responsible for communications and public affairs for a major climate change research project in Paris, was a research assistant to a U.S. Congressman on Capitol Hill, and worked in publishing and business intelligence. A New Yorker by birth and a Londoner and Dubliner by upbringing, Evan has lived, worked and studied on three continents. A graduate of Sciences Po Paris, he holds a degree in Eastern European Studies and a master’s in Finance. In addition to his native English, he speaks near¬native French, as well as Dutch, German and Czech.

Jacqueline Hogue

Senior Consultant

Jacqui has more than a decade of experience in EU communications, project management and event organization. She works on communication projects for various international companies and trade associations primarily in the climate & energy and food & health sectors. Before joining Aspect, she worked for the think tank Friends of Europe managing high-level debates and projects on various topics, including their annual flagship event ‘The State of Europe’, a gathering of heads of state, senior policymakers and stakeholders. Prior to that she was responsible for marketing and communications for the Brussels office and EU Antitrust and Competition Practice of global law firm O’Melveny & Myers LLP.

Born and raised in the United States with a degree in International Studies from Boston College, Jacqui has been living abroad (Belgium, France and Turkey) for most of her adult life and speaks English and French.

Paula Calabuig Domingo


Paula joined Aspect in January 2015 supporting the team in providing EU public affairs and communications advice to Aspect’s clients across a range of policy areas, including climate and energy, health and nutrition, CSR, education and entrepreneurship. Prior to joining Aspect, Paula gained experience in strategic planning and communications in the area of internationalisation of higher education policy at the University of Aberdeen, and event planning organizing institutional and ministerial visits to the International Exposition of Water and Sustainable Development (ExpoZaragoza 2008).

Born in Spain, raised in Germany, Paula gained her MA in International Relations & Sociology and MSc in European Politics from the University of Aberdeen and has experience in EU and international affairs developed in organizations such as the European Commission and NATO.

Paula is fluent in English and Spanish along with having knowledge of French and German.

Sam Millicheap


Sam joined the Aspect team in 2016. Prior to Aspect, Sam worked in the UK Parliament for four years as an assistant and advisor to two Conservative MPs, where he gained an in-depth knowledge of British Politics and parliamentary procedures. He worked closely with businesses, pressure groups, think tanks and NGOs specialising in International Development and Foreign Affairs, and also focused on a variety of healthcare policy areas including melanoma, diabetes, and malaria. He helped manage the All Party Parliamentary Group for International Mining, organising numerous events for industry stakeholders and parliamentarians to discuss issues facing the extractive industries, and has been involved in devising and implementing a number of high-profile local and national campaigns.

Sam studied at the University of Loughborough where he graduated with a degree in Politics with Criminology. Outside of work Sam is a qualified personal trainer and keen rugby player.

Jessica Veal


Jess joined Aspect in June 2017, working with the corporate communications team in the UK and internationally. Prior to Aspect, Jess worked in public relations and communications across the non-profit and financial sectors in London, with a recent focus on private equity, venture capital funding and start-up investment. Her areas of expertise include strategic planning, media, social media, as well as events and project management.

Jess holds a degree in Marketing and is continually developing her knowledge of Mandarin. Outside of work, Jess is a keen marathon runner and traveller.

Andrei Cazacu


Andrei joined Aspect in February 2017 as a trainee consultant. Previously he worked at the Embassies of the UK and Sweden in Romania, as well as with the Swiss start-up GovFaces where he gained experience in political communications at both EU and national levels, particularly focusing on digital and new media.

Andrei earned an MRes in Modern History and International Relations from the University of Groningen. He was one of the first recipients of the European Commission’s EU-JAMM scholarship, through which he also earned an MA in Comparative Public Policy from Osaka University. His research focus was modern Russian foreign policy.

Born in Romania, Andrei has lived most of his adult life abroad (the UK, the Netherlands, and Japan). He speaks Romanian and English and is learning French.

Tania Orobello

Office Manager

Tania has recently joined Aspect as our office manager bringing with her extensive experience in office and business administration, accounting and IT as well as event management. Before joining Aspect Tania held similar positions in European non-governmental NGOs and SMEs including some of Aspect’s previous clients.

Tania graduated from High School Institut Cooremans of Brussels with a Bachelor Degree in IT.
